Your Vercel project.
Logs in Scribed.
Connect a Vercel project to review deployment status and forwarded runtime logs. Your connection belongs to your account. You decide whether a workspace can read recent logs, findings, or both.
Open integrationsConnect a project
- Sign in to Scribed and open Settings → Integrations. Find Vercel, choose Connect, and continue to Vercel.
- Choose the Vercel account or team that owns your project. Review Scribed’s requested permissions and choose the projects the installation can access.
- Return to Scribed and choose the one project you want this connection to read. Check its name and project identifier, then save the connection.
- If Scribed shows Complete setup in Vercel, use it to finish the installation. Return to Scribed to configure a drain or review your connection.
Start authorization inside Scribed so it can attach the connection to your signed-in account. Scribed requests read access to the installation configuration, projects and deployments. Where automatic drain setup is available, it also requests Drains Read/Write permission to create and remove its log drain. Existing installations may need to approve that additional permission.
Vercel may authorize more projects during installation; Scribed reads only the project you select for this connection. Workspace members do not receive your Vercel credentials.
To monitor another project, choose Add another connection and select a project from your existing Vercel authorization. Each connection has its own logs, drain setup and workspace access. Use Connect another Vercel team when the project belongs to a different team.
Forward runtime logs
A log drain forwards new log events from Vercel to Scribed. After saving your project connection, choose Enable logs when available so Scribed can configure the drain for you. Connections with manual setup show Drain setup instead. Availability depends on your connection and the setup options currently enabled for it.
- Check the selected project. The default is production runtime logs from functions and edge functions. Open the advanced options before enabling if you need preview logs or additional sources.
- Review the selection and choose Enable logs. Scribed creates the drain and tests delivery. If permission is required, choose Review Vercel permissions and accept the requested Drains permission in the installation’s settings. Return to Scribed and choose Check status.
- Check the drain status and last delivery test. Make a normal request to your project in a selected environment, then check the last log received and View logs → Recent logs. A delivery test does not count as a real log event.
Once configured, the selected environments and sources stay fixed in this setup. Retry checks the same drain. If you already created a manual drain for this endpoint, keep using it or review and remove it in Vercel before enabling automatic setup.
Manual setup
If automatic setup is unavailable, use the manual fields in Drain setup. Keep the endpoint and signing secret private; the connection owner can reopen them later.
- In Vercel, open your team’s Settings → Drains → Add Drain. Choose Logs and select only the project connected in Scribed. Choose the log sources and environments you want to forward.
- Select Custom Endpoint. Copy Scribed’s Endpoint URL into the matching Vercel field and choose JSON for Format.
- Copy Scribed’s Signature Verification Secret into that field in Vercel. Add Custom Headers only if Scribed supplies them; otherwise leave that field empty.
- Save the drain and check its delivery status in Vercel. Make a normal request to your project, then open View logs → Recent logs in Scribed and refresh to confirm that a new event arrived.
Review what your application writes to logs before forwarding them. Avoid passwords, access tokens and unnecessary personal information. Drain availability, delivery and charges depend on your Vercel plan; Scribed usage follows your account’s billing.
See Vercel’s drain setup instructions and drain signing requirements for the current provider settings.
Read logs and findings
Choose View logs on the Vercel connection. Recent logs show received log events; Findings summarize reported runtime issues and available deployment status checks. Check the project and access context before reading or sharing a result.
The view reports the last 24 hours and indicates when results are limited. Deployment checks and runtime log delivery have separate status: an active OAuth connection does not prove that a drain is delivering, and an empty window does not prove that the project has no problems. Use Vercel to investigate the original deployment.
Choose workspace access
Workspace access is off by default. The connection owner can allow access in a workspace where they are an owner or administrator.
- Open Workspace access on your Vercel connection.
- Choose a workspace, confirm the selected project, and allow Recent logs, Findings, or both.
- Teammates with the required workspace access can open View logs → Workspace access and select the shared connection. Their own workspace permissions still apply.
- To stop sharing, return to the connection’s Workspace access, review the workspace and revoke its access.
A grant covers this project and the kinds of results you chose. It does not give the workspace your Vercel credentials, access to another project, permission to change deployments, or consent for unattended Runs. Revoking a grant stops future workspace reads.
Reconnect or disconnect
Use Update connection or Reconnect when authorization expires or you want to select a different project. Review Vercel authorization and save the project again. Replacing the connection invalidates earlier workspace grants; allow each workspace again only after checking the new connection. Review the current log setup before enabling logs for the new connection.
To remove the connection, choose Disconnect in Scribed and confirm. This immediately stops Scribed access and sharing, and requests removal of saved Vercel credentials and stored runtime log history. When Scribed created the drain through Enable logs, it also removes that specific drain. If cleanup cannot finish, Scribed keeps it pending for retry. Remove manually created drains yourself in Vercel so they stop sending events.
Disconnecting in Scribed does not uninstall the Vercel integration. To revoke its provider authorization, remove Scribed from the relevant account or team’s integrations in Vercel. Review Vercel’s removal confirmation carefully: uninstalling an integration can also remove resources associated with that installation.
Troubleshooting
Authorization did not finish
Sign in to Scribed and start a fresh connection from Settings → Integrations → Vercel. Keep using the same Scribed account until you have selected a project and saved it. Old authorization links cannot be reused. If Vercel requests administrator approval, complete that process with your team administrator.
My project is missing
Check the Vercel account and team you authorized, and which projects you allowed during installation. Your Vercel permissions still apply. Update the connection and authorize the intended project, then select it again in Scribed. Review workspace access afterward because replacing a connection invalidates earlier grants.
The connection is ready, but no runtime logs appear
Account authorization and log delivery have separate status. Open Enable logs, or Drain setup on a manual connection, to review delivery. Automatic setup shows whether a drain is configured, its last delivery test and the last log received. Generate a normal request in a selected environment, then refresh Recent logs. For manual setup, also check the selected project, sources, environments, endpoint, signing secret and delivery status in Vercel. An empty results window does not confirm that the drain is working.
Enable logs asks for permission or reconnection
Automatic setup requires Vercel’s Drains Read/Write permission. Choose Review Vercel permissions. In Vercel, open your Scribed installation → Settings → Review Requested Permissions and accept the Drains permission, then return to Scribed and choose Check status. Reconnecting does not approve a pending permission request. Reconnect only when Scribed specifically asks you to update an older connection, and recheck workspace access afterward. If Enable logs is unavailable, use the manual setup fields.
A drain already uses this endpoint
Scribed will not replace or adopt a manually created drain. Review that drain in Vercel. Keep it and continue using manual setup, or remove it yourself before enabling automatic setup. Do not create a second drain for the same Scribed endpoint.
Setup is pending or the delivery test failed
Reopen Enable logs and use its retry or test action. Scribed checks the same setup before creating anything else. Keep the selected environments and sources unchanged while retrying. If the outcome remains unknown, contact support with the displayed message instead of adding another drain.
Deployment checks are unavailable
Read the status shown in View logs. If deployment access expired, update the connection and authorize Vercel again. Runtime logs already delivered through the drain can still be available even when deployment checks fail. If the service is unavailable, contact support with the displayed message.
A teammate cannot see the project’s logs
The connection owner must allow that workspace and the required kind of access. Check Workspace access on the Vercel connection. The owner must be a workspace owner or administrator to allow access; people reading shared logs must also have the required workspace role and integration access. Reconnecting requires a new sharing decision.
Drain setup is unavailable in Vercel
Vercel log drains require a Pro or Enterprise plan and appropriate team permissions. Check the current plan and drain settings with your team administrator. Automatic setup also requires the integration’s Drains Read/Write permission. Changing your Vercel plan is a separate action in Vercel.
